Control Board Rewire Procedure for WB27X10311 in a GE model JBP78WY5 range
    3 Stars
Control Board Rewire Procedure for WB27X10311 in a GE model JBP78WY5 range
Here is the rewiring procedure, with attached pictures, to replace an older control board with the new WB27X10311 in a GE model JBP78WY5 range. After recently purchasing a new control board, from Amazon, that did not include instructions, I created this cross reference.• The 3 neutral (White)wires on the old board are tied together on a single female spade terminal connector, which can simply be moved to the neutral connector on the new board• The Hot (Red) wire is on a pass-through female spade connector and can be moved to the common male spade terminal on the left relay of the new board. There is a common spade terminal on each relay, but they are tied together, so you only need to connect the hot wire to the left relay.• The Blue wire, from the broil element (Top of oven) goes to the left relay, marked with a Purple dot.• The Yellow wire from the bake element (Bottom of oven), goes to the right relay, marked with a Yellow dot. You will have to remove the plastic shroud from the connectors on the Blue and Yellow wires to attach them to the new board. They can be unlatched and slipped off, or simply removed by cutting them off of the female spade terminal, since you won't need them. Be careful not to damage the spade connector. You will notice that the relay connectors on the new board, marked NC (No Connection) in the attached pictures, have small plastic protrusions that prevent a female spade terminal from being connected. This helps eliminate possible mistakes in the rewire process.I have attached the following pictures, with labels, to show the corresponding connection points on the old and new boards:• Old Control Board (With Wires Connected)• Old Board Angled View (With Wires Connected)• Old Board and New Board Side-By-Side Comparison• New Board (With Wires Connected)I hope these pictures and descriptions help eliminate the frustration I encountered when I first received my new board without documentation.
