Product Description

Product Description

Take on the tough tasks with this tactically styled Blur. With its angled shape, the tanto blade provides additional piercing power to penetrate tough materials. The shape puts more steel behind the point to support its piercing tasks. For additional versatility, Kershaw added partial serration, great for cutting through materials such as webbing or rope. The Blur comes equipped with assisted opening for quick one-handed open, a liner lock to hold the blade open during use, and a reversible pocketclip for versatile carrying capacity. You can look to Kershaw for everyday carrying knives that can tame any cardboard box and liberate any purchase from its plastic packaging, sporting knives that make hunting, fishing, watersports, and camping even better, work knives that won’t let you down, and tactical knives that ensure you’re ready for anything.

Constructed of 13C26 stainless steel for strength and corrosion resistance, Kershaw's Ken Onion Tactical Blur folding knife features a 3-3/8-inch partially serrated Tanto blade. Ideal for extreme or everyday situations, the Blur series offers power and performance. A lightweight anodized aluminum handle offers Trac-Tec inserts which provide a non-slip grip even in wet and slippery conditions.

Kershaw's SpeedSafe assisted opening system helps you to smoothly open the knife with a manual push on the blade's thumb stud or Index-Open system. SpeedSafe's torsion bar helps keep the knife closed, preventing it from being opened by accident. In order to open the knife, apply manual pressure to the thumb stud to overcome the resistance of the torsion bar. After the blade is out of the handle, the torsion bar moves along its track and takes over. The blade opens smoothly and locks into position, ready for use.

Kershaw Blur Knives

With a big, slightly recurved blade ideal for multitasking, Kershaw Blurs offer amazing slicing and piercing capabilities good for tackling tough jobs. The Blur family of knives have many different versions from the steels to the handle materials. The same great, useful, powerful blade shape with fierce design offer users consistency and dependability. The low profile pocketclip rests on the frame making it easy to pull from the pocket. For right-handed tip up or tip-down carry, users experience trusted SpeedSafe Assisted Opening, razor sharpness, and corrosion and wear resistance.

High-Performance Steel

Sandvik 14C28N steel is a high-performance steel with increased nitrogen in the formula for excellent corrosion resistance and hardness. The overall highest performing knife steel in the world that still maintains the productivity benefit of being fine-blankable, 14C28N steel is ideal for knife applications which place high demands on edge sharpness, edge stability and corrosion resistance.

Attractive Blade Coating

Cerakote coating is a ceramic based finish coat formula that enhances corrosion and wear resistance. Cerakote enables a long lasting and durable blade coat for everyday use.

Fast Deployment

Using a torsion bar to move the blade out of the handle, Kershaw’s revolutionary SpeedSafe Assisted Opening system enables smooth, secure, fast one-handed blade deployment. Apply manual pressure to the flipper or thumb stud with a light push or pull back to overcome resistance of the torsion bar, and the blade opens smoothly and locks into place for confident handling without premature closure.

Secure Locking System

With two steel plates, or liners, on the inside of each handle scale, the liner locking system safely secures the blade open and prevents unwanted blade closure. The lockbar butts up against the blade’s backend to prevent closure, and angles or is bent towards the blade tang creating a bias locked position. Apply manual force to move the lockbar to the side and fold the blade back into the handle.

Additional Features

flipper, knife switchblade, knife flipper, switchblade, switchblade opening, assisted opening

handle features, kershaw handles, knife handles

pocketclip, knife pocketclip, kershaw pocketclips

One-Handed Flipper

Knives with SpeedSafe open have two options for one-handed blade deployment. To activate the smooth, instant open, user can push a thumbstud or press a flipper. The flipper on SpeedSafe assisted knives is easy to operate by both left- and right-handed users. And, once blade swings open and locks into place, flipper either disappears for aesthetics or remains visible for added finger protection.

Durable Handle

Aluminum, anodized for color, hardness and additional protection, is very durable, stain and scratch resistant for strong knife handles. Anodizing changes the aluminum’s surface so a porous coating can be applied that will accept a colored dye. Anodized aluminum gives the knife bright, eye-catching, unique colors and provides a nice, hefty, solid feel to the knife without making the knife heavy. Trac-Tec Inserts are rough-surfaced inserts that provide additional friction for a non-slip grip on a Kershaw knife’s handle scales. With extreme gripping capabilities, Trac-Tec inserts feel almost spongy when pressed with a fingertip. The inserts are comfortable and secure in the hand, and the texture is soft enough that it will not scratch or irritate the users’ hands.

Convenient Pocketclip

Kershaw designs pocketclips to fit specific knives according to their weight, intended end use, size, style and hardware. Some knives have multiple carry options, others are more streamlined. The reversible pocketclip allows user to choose to carry knife tip-up or tip-down or to choose on which side knife carries. The user may select either a preferred tip position or a preferred carry side.

Great EDC knife & great customer service!

Great EDC knife & great customer service!
I've had this knife for just under 3 years now. It's my EDC and goes everywhere with me both at home and at work, and gets used literally almost every day. It's a great quality knife, holds an edge well, holds up to sand, dirt, moisture, chemicals, drywall, ceiling tiles, etc. just fine. Even the black finish on the blade and handle have held up very well for the abuse it's gone through. Aside from occasional maintenance like sharpening the blade and checking screw snugness, the only issue I've ever had was a couple or so months ago, one of the grip inlays fell off and was lost. With a quick Google search for "Kershaw Warranty" I was able to find there warranty claim form. They sent me a brand new full set of grip inlays completely for free! I only used the one that had went missing, the other two were still attached to the knife fine so I kept those new ones as spares just in case I ever need them. Overall I highly recommend this knife, especially for it's price. I had a more expensive Benchmade knife before this one, and I honestly like this one a bit more. Feels more sturdy and holds an edge about the same, and can't beat the awesome warranty service.

Very happy with this Kershaw Blur. Qaulity is excellent. Out of the box sharp. Centered. I'm not a fan of the pocket clip but thats but a personal preference. Pocket clip does the job. Blade steel is decent for the price point. Spring assist works well. Thumb studs works well but are a bit aggressive. I Definitely recommend this knife. It's a good one. 👍
