Used as whole house fan
Fan works fine, no issues with shutters, vibration or noise.Easy install in attic with 25' of duct connected to a ceiling intake register. Almost undetectable as far as noise, although i suggest rubber isolation pads to deter vibration. Installed with Alexa enabled switch and set schedule to come on a couple times a day for 4 hours total. This helps keep the upstairs temp reasonable, although next time I'd go bigger, maybe 20" or even 24" on 1800 SF house. So what does that mean? In my case, AC power went from 916KWH per month to 384KWH by using this fan, which consumes about 18KWH per month. At .13 per KWH, AC cost went from about $120 to $50 per month,58% decrease including power for the fan. Return on investment is outstanding, in my situation the entire system cost about $400, so it all paid for itself in one summer.
