Thickness : Baltic birch plywood is manufactured to metric standards, so it is 3mm thick, but is sold in the US as 1/8 inch thick because that's closest to the size we're familiar with. I don't think it's possible to buy 1/8 Baltic birch plywood.
Surface: Baltic birch plywood is defined by a grading system. The pictures on Amazon showing knot free and blemish free surfaces are misleading. The grade of this plywood is supposed to have a certain amount of blemishes. The eight boards in my package showed fewer blemishes than I expected, so I was lucky this time. Baltic birch plywood is used for furniture in Europe but the 1/8th and 1/4 inch thick boards are too thin for furniture and are used where they won't show, like drawer bottoms and rear panels, so blemishes are expected. Those boards would probably be rated b/b. These boards are b/bb, with bb being the better side.
Warping: the 1/8 and 1/4 inch panels are thin and are very likely to warp. I doubt if it's possible to make these panels so that they can't warp. If they came warped, or become warped before you use them, you can try dipping a sponge in hot water and wetting the concave side. Then put weights on it and let it dry in the sun. Do it again if necessary and you should get a flat board.
I think the boards I received comply with the written descriptions of them. The photos of blemishes free boards are misleading, although most of my boards were blemish free or had very small ones. The quality was as expected and the price was good.
The other brand came in a slightly larger size so I could feed in and cut larger sizes with multiple passes. Those pieces however came in with a noticeable warp, rough edges, and a label that was not easily removed on every single sheet. Needless to say Woodpeckers is my go-to for plywood now. I have used them frequently in the past for creating Montessori materials from their worked pieces such as their spheres, cubes beads and caps. Thier product is high quality at great prices
There was a very slight bow to a few of the 1/8" pieces (I bought 40 total) but they still cut perfectly in my laser using the honeycomb pins to hold the wood down a bit. Thin ply like that can bow so easily- that's why I always add a frame to it if I am not cutting it into tiny pieces and frames will keep it straight and flat. I also weighted down a couple of the pieces and that straightenes them out too. It really was no problem at all and totally expected here and there with this thin ply. I'm just mentioning it so that others will know what to expect- I see pol leave a less than stellar review bc of slight bowing of a piece or two here and there, which is just Nature at work.

The reason I'm giving this three stars instead of 5 however is that many of the boards do not lie flat. They are warped right out of the box, sometimes to the degree that they are unusable (the head of the cutter hits the raised edge on one side). In other cases, the boards are still usable but the laser will fail to properly focus on some sections, so the cut doesn't go through the wood completely (we could use slower settings, but then other portions of the cut burn). This is partially addressed by dividing the cut into smaller sections, continually repositioning the board so that we're cutting closer to the center (where the focus occurs), and taping the wood down to the bed. But, that doesn't work for all designs (i.e., a large shape) and is generally a pain. I'd say that we've wasted roughly 1/3 of this wood on prints that had to be tossed due to board warping. So, overall, I haven't found a better alternative, but I hope this review helps people plan their prototyping budgets...
