These Knobs are far better that OEM. Sure it will take a little work to make them work correctly, but very well worth it. First, go to youtube.com to see how to take apart, then this is what I did to make the fit properly. Please note that the older controllers have shorter knob shafts and the newer ones are longer. I made a spacer (using a Q Tip Shaft) and secured them with RVT Black Gasket Maker. Only put the RVT inside of the new knob shaft. This will "hold" them in place and this is still removable should you want to use them in a different controller. Just take you time doing this and be careful not to lose any small parts. I used a paper plate. To show you that the OEM Knobs are junk and ware out faster, I've included a picture of one. Please note this is a picture of Sony's Knob that caused my controller to not work. The Pictures of the controllers are Gold (newer Version Controller), Camo (Newer Version Controller) and Black (older Version Controller). After installing these Aluminum Thumbsticks they all work way better then stock one's. I'm sure these knobs will far outlast the OEM Sony Original one's!!! Worth Doing !!!

I purchased these for the simple fact that my old analog sticks get chewed by toddlers in my home and what better replacement than ones that are made of durable metal? As it turned out after assembly I had significant trouble with R3/L3 buttons. I disassembled again and noticed that the hole that fits over the sensors protrudes much more than the OEM sticks preventing them from being depressed as much as they are needed for the “click”. Giving 2 stars because I am using gen 1 controllers and haven’t checked on newer ones. Regardless if they are meant for newer controllers the description should state this. In addition the sticks do not secure to the sensor as well and are liable to slide off during reassembly.

These things feel great while playing! Amazing how the added height really makes a difference in gameplay.
I did put it together as-is first and didn't like the fit. As someone else here wrote, I used a piece of Q tip shaft (layed down, the width of the shaft was perfect) and a little RTV gasket maker to secure it. Worked perfect!!

I thought that the metal would be an interesting touch but was worried about the clanking noise it would make when moving the joysticks. I was told by the seller that these should work with the Scuf Infinity 4PS controller. They do not. While they fit into the space for the thumbsticks just fine, when I put the locking mechanism on (the thing that keeps the thumbsticks in place), the thumbsticks become rigid and stiff and won't move around freely.

The only reason I am not giving these one star is because I technically don't have the stock PS4 controller to try these out on. If I did, I'm sure they would work. But for those wanting to try these with a Scuf, DO NOT BUY. THEY WILL NOT WORK.
