Installation could not be easier. You can either use the included bottle or the hose that is included directly into the bottle of dish detergent. If you use the bottle though you will have to refill it from time to time. You just pull the pump up and pour in the detergent.
If you install it with the hose there is nothing to refill, ever. The hose connects to the bottom of the pump and goes directly into a bottle of detergent under the sink. I have it set up with the hose and a gallon of detergent under the sink. It will be a long time before I have to worry about changing it out.
*TIP - If you install with the tubing make sure you prime it with water first as directed. This will get any air out of the line and get the detergent flowing right away. Also, keep the tubing in as straight a line as possible. At first I had the detergent on the opposite side under the sink and was getting a lot of air in the hose. Once I positioned the bottle under the dispenser and cut the hose shorter I never got air in it again.

For those of you who got lucky with a working unit, "YAY YOU!". For those of us who didn't, it was a waste of money.
I fill this thing all the way up with soap, it shoots out a couple squirts and that's it. I'm pumping and pumping and pumping (for what seems like forever) and all I get is a little tiny bit of goo.
The only way this thing could be worse is if it squirted me in the eye and I'd end up walking around like a pirate with one eye close and grunting, "Arrrrrrrrrrrgh!"
Here are things that didn't work:
1) Just putting the hose in the bottle and trying to pump the soap up to the dispenser doesn't work. After a few hundred pumps, you can get the soap up close to the dispenser, and that is all.
2) Elevating the bottle of soap makes it possible to pump the soap all the way up to the dispenser, but it won't enter the pump. At least this will fill the hose, though.
3) Adding water to the top of the pump (pulling the spigot and adding water with a dropper) was of no help.
4) Making a sleeve to adapt my vacuum cleaner hose to the soap spigot and using that to suck on the spigot while pumping did not work, even with my very powerful central vacuum.
5) I don't recommend cutting the hose to size. It doesn't make priming any easier. Just let it dangle, or drape it over something if you want to keep it out of the way. A longer hose makes replacing the bottle easier.
6) The included adapter that fits in the bulk soap bottle is OK, but it comes loose easily. It works better to drill a hole in the bottle's cap that will fit the hose snugly, and drill a tiny vent hole off to the side. That way it can be screwed down and is much more secure and stable.
7) I haven't tried using this or any other built-in dispenser with gel soap. I don't know if that would work, especially from a bulk bottle that is a couple of feet below the pump. I use dish washing liquid, or a liquid hand soap of similar viscosity. Don't be afraid to dilute your soap with 50% water or so to make it easier to pump.
