It comes with 5/16 bolts and washers for mounting a grinder. With my grinder mounted it is stable but can be tipped and can slide around. I want to be able to move it around in the shop so I don't want to bolt it to the floor. So I bolted the foot to a one inch thick piece of plywood board and then glued a rubber mat to the bottom of the plywood. It is stable and does not move but I can move it around the shop with a hand truck.
I slipped a piece of plastic over the tube before sliding it into the base and trimmed away the excess before pushing it all the way in so that I could fill the post with concrete to make it more stable. It didn't take much concrete at all or seem to add as much weight as I thought it would but it did make it noticeably more stable feeling and not seem as top-heavy.
I then mounted 3" locking swivel casters to two of the legs and fashioned a stationary foot out of a 3/8" bolt/washers/nuts and a hockey puck for the other. This configuration keeps it from moving around on me when in use, even without employing the brake on the casters, yet lets me tilt it onto the wheels and roll it around when needed. Since using the grinder creates a lot of dust I MUCH prefer to be able to roll it out on the driveway and leave the dust in the grass, weather-permitting, as opposed to all over my garage.
I'm very happy with the stand the way I have it set up. Well worth the asking price, which is what earns it 5 stars in my book. I plan to buy another to use with a vintage Craftsman 3/4hp block grinder I recently picked up. I would definitely recommend this stand to anyone needing one.

Amazon grouped this bench grinder stand with the Jet Industrial grade bench grinder I purchased so assumed they would work nice together. The mounting plate is *somewhat* universal, but doesn't match the bolt pattern on my unit. I somewhat blame Amazon for grouping these together.
That being said, I'm going to make a new mounting plate for this unit to match the Jet's bolt pattern. Because I'm too cheap to by 5x the cost of this unit for the Jet brand stand. The Jet version looks beefier. But I think a new mount plate and anchoring the unit to the floor should make this stable and cost effective.
I mounted the base to wooden platform as I do not want to drill bolt holes in my garage floor until I am sure where its final resting place will be and since I move shop tools around fixing it to the floor was out for now. I would not want to use it with my grinder without it being stabilized somehow. Just a bit top heavy I thought but that is why the legs have bolt holes in them.
Overall it does what it was designed to do and without breaking the bank. Unlike some other Wen tools this one did not have any issues with quality..ie stripped screws..bent or broken parts unlike my Wen grinder ..not good quality control on that one.

Very well built, easy to assemble, with supplied nuts/bolts, and range of base mounting configurations. As I use this Grinder primarily for sharpening my Lathe Chisels (Skews, Gouges), I mounted some plywood onto Metal Base amd attached my usual "One Way/Wolverine" Lathe Grinder Jigs.... Pleased with this Purchase, would recommend.
