Works well with Nerf Ammo; a good portable target to shoot at.
5 Stars
Works well with Nerf Ammo; a good portable target to shoot at.
Designed for airsoft, but it can be used for Nerf darts and balls too. Actually, since it is light and made of thin material, I feel it is better off with a weaker average velocity ammunition anyway. I do a lot of reviews of the foam flinging blasters on Amazon, you may have seen some of the reviews where I use my ProChrono chronograph to measure the dart velocities of each blaster and give my opinion. Having to test all the different make and model foam blasters that there are can be tiresome, especially if I have to chase and pick up tons of darts and Rival Rounds that fly all over the place during my product testing. That is where this thing comes in. First thing upon seeing the carry bag was that it had a transparent pouch sewn into it (it is unclear why there is a clear pocket on it). After unzipping the carrying bag, I took the target trap out... “poof,” the thing springs open. Do be careful so you do not get smacked in the face. I have not, but the force at which I observed it open is mildly alarming. This is pretty much like the sun heat shields for your car, only much stronger since there are four sides to this box. Each panel has a loop at the top so you can hang it up if you so choose. You have to pull each of the sides apart to form this box; Once open, I noticed that it has a spot above the front “window” for Velcro patches (or perhaps something to hang?). The target is the size of one of those small refrigerators, or maybe a larger cat house. Obviously one of the panels has a large window opening to allow things to be cast into it. There are strips hanging down from the ceiling of the box, and also 3 sheets of material. The sheets are as follows: 2 behind the strips, + 1 final sheet in the back of it which is weighted down with a stick sewn into the bottom. The purpose of these hanging materials are to neutralize ballistic projectiles (like foam darts; by transferring the kinetic energy from the projectile to the strips and the sheets). You can simply gather the ammo that collects at the bottom of the target catch. Folding it up takes a bit of practice and a considerable amount of force since you have to align all 4 panels and then twist all 4 while you cram it into the carrying case (which is made of the same thin material). I experience a feeling of relief once I have it safely zipped up. In conclusion, I approve of this target and would recommend it for parents who need to give there kids something to shoot at that does not breath, and discourages darts and balls being left all over their floor.
