About this item

  • EFFICIENT POWER: 55lb Thrust - this 12v electric trolling motor provides excellent power and efficiency for any boater. High quality components allow the motor to run all day long without overheating, or making noise to spook fish.
  • FEATURES: This motor features a 36 inch fiberglass shaft, a 10 LED battery meter, a 6 inch telescoping tiller handle, 30 degree adjustable head, and 3 blade propeller. The tiller angle, as well as mount, height, angle, and direction can all be adjusted and locked into place when needed.
  • SPEED: This motor has 8 speeds, 5 forward and 3 reverse. The motor is designed for trolling, so the top speed of this motor is about 4mph, but depends on your boat shape, weight, water, wind, and other factors. Our 3 Blade Propeller gives the motor great low end torque to get the boat moving.
  • BATTERY: The 55lb X Series motor requires one (1) 12V Lead-Acid Deep Cycle or Lithium Deep Cycle battery (battery not included), 50ah recommended. The motor also includes a 50amp circuit breaker which is recommended at all times to protect from battery voltage surges. Max Amp Draw: 52A

    So Far So Good.
This review is from someone who only owned a Minn Kota C30, so I have nothing else to compare it to. I feel it meets the same quality as my old trolling motor. I can not go into detail yet until I had a chance to take this out on the water. However, first impressions I remember my C30 wasn't very fast. It was fine for a small fishing kayak but now that I have a new stand-n-fish pontoon boat, I wanted something a little bigger. This 55lb. is much heavier than my old 30lb. by 8lbs. What influenced my decision the most was a review on YouTube which compared it to a small gas motor when put in 5th gear. When shopping I looked at the Minn Kota Traxxis 55 because if the tilting arm. That is a very important feature to someone who is in a stand-n-fish boat. I just couldn't see paying another $100 more for the Minn Kota plus $50 for a 2 year warranty. Similar quality for a lot less money.

Really impressed so far, have a 14ft by 5ft paddle board. Cruises along really good! Hard to paddle such a big board with 2 people but now it quite enjoyable. Used a intex motor mount and some plumbing pipe. Even added 2 rod holders with the motor mount.
