About this item
- MADE BY SKATERS All of our boards are designed by skaters and inspired by our location in Southern California, the birthplace of longboarding. Many of our design cues come from the local surf culture and natural materials, we let the simple aesthetics shine on their own. We also prioritize our customer service and want you to be completely stoked with your new board. All messages are replied to within 24 hours and we’ll do our very best to ensure satisfaction and maximum cruising on our boards.
- ULTIMATE CRUISER This board is one of our most popular boards for its smooth ride and ability to cruise and carve anywhere. The longboard's deck features a drop through truck design for a lower center of gravity and smoother ride. It is designed for stability and performance and gives you the best of both worlds, making it perfect for cruising and carving along the coast, in the neighborhood, or on campus!
- QUALITY TRUCKS This board features gravity cast aluminum trucks with a 7 inch hanger and kingpin angle of 50 degrees. The bushings are High Rebound (medium stiffness) which adds to the carving experience.
- THE PERFECT SHAPE The bamboo deck is 42" by 9" which makes it perfect for fun carving and tight turns! The carver board features a shallow concave shape with a nice arched camber. The shallow concave makes for a comfortable ride under your feet while the chamber makes the board lively and incredibly responsive.
- FLEXIBLE & STRONG The bamboo and fiberglass used in this deck make it really lively and fun for carving! The 3 plies of bamboo give the deck great flexibility while the fiberglass reinforces the deck to add strength and durability.

Product Description
Magneto Longboards
At Magneto Longboards, we think skating is awesome, we also think it should be affordable. It shouldn't cost an arm and a leg for a great Longboard setup. We're committed to releasing great quality, awesome complete boards for affordable prices.
But don't be fooled by our prices...we are very serious about making the highest quality boards we can. We strive to push our materials to their maximum, with cool innovative shapes and concavities.
We also take style and design very seriously. We have way more to offer than just a wooden deck with a heat transfer graphic. Our goal with every design is to push what has been done in the past with cool new ideas and treatments.
While we are relatively new to the industry, we very much are looking forward to making a big splash!
Highest Quality Materials
The difference between a good board and a great board comes down to the deck. This is why Magneto only uses the highest quality materials to manufacture our decks. However, great materials can only get you so far. Magneto sets itself apart by using natural and engineered materials to construct extremely high performing decks. Check out some of the materials we use.
Canadian Maple - A high density, stiff wood with excellent hardness and durability. Maple can be finished glass smooth giving it an unparalleled beauty.
Bamboo - A low density, fibrous material with good strength and flexible characteristics. Bamboo is the fastest growing plant on earth which makes it a great renewable resource for building decks.
Fiberglass - A low density engineered material composed of resin and long glass fibers. Fiberglass has excellent strength and flex properties making it the perfect material for lightweight flexible decks.
Carbon Fiber - A low density engineered material composed of epoxy and long strands of carbon fibers. Carbon fiber is extremely stiff due its long strands of carbon. Because it is extremely stiff and light weight, it is the perfect material for fast stable downhill decks.
Premium Looks
Longboarding is much more than simply getting from point A to point B. Influenced by surfers in the 1960's, early long boarders saw this form of skating to express themselves. With self-expression comes style and aesthetics which we at Magneto take very seriously.
We use several finishing techniques that offer bold and fresh looks to our boards. From laser etched bamboo to carbon fiber weaves we strive to make a statement with everything we do. Each board has an aesthetic that matches the function of the board.
The Bamboo & Fiberglass Drop has a clean and fresh look with laser etched graphics on top of a beautiful varnished bamboo and a clear epoxy sanded top.
The Tesla Longboard is bold and energetic with a large graphics treatment. The lighting orb centering the deck is a mere glimpse of how fun this board is to ride.
The Carbon Downhill board is technical and fast with a carbon fiber top logo and bold bottom graphics. The Magneto logo cut into the grip tape provides a window to the carbon fiber technology of this board.

I bought my son the 38.5" "carving" Magneto board. I tried it out and enjoyed it so much I bought the 42". While I like the 38.5", I'd instead recommend the 42" because it is just as maneuverable, has small kick-tails, and has a better overall feel. I'm a pretty big guy, my son is about 90 lbs, and my daughter is about 60 lbs. We all can ride the 38.5" or 42".
Pros:
- Great for carving!
- Smooth ride. The flex in the fiberglass really reduces road vibration!
- Stable. The lower center of gravity and the firm/slightly flexy surface makes for a secure feeling surface at high speeds.
- Can handle tight turns (if you have the balance)
- Nice look and hand-feel of the sanded grip. It also doesn't scrape up your clothes so much while carrying the board. I was not sure how I felt about not having grip tape... now I really like it!
- Wheels, trucks, and bearings seem great to me. I'm not going to bother replacing them as the gains would only be minor if any.
- Strong. I can jump on the board without feeling like it'll break.
- The price is really reasonable for a premium quality board
Cons
- I would like a longer kicktail. I use the kicktail on tight turns or while turning while going slow.
- It seems to get dings in it easier than my son's cheaper hardwood board. That said, I know they are all going to get beat up with use!
PROS:
- Riding on rough asphalt is nice and smooth. You can still pick up speed pretty easily and the wheels absorb a lot of the shock from the road.
- The grip on the deck is good and not too grabby.
- The design of the board is top notch.
- The bearings seem to be pretty good.
CONS:
- The trucks are really loose out of the box. I tightened them and they still have a lot of play in them. I’ll try tightening them all the way and see if that helps.
- The kicks are relatively small. If you are new to longboards(like me), it will seem like you need a good amount of force to kick the board up. Definitely not as easy as a regular skateboard.
All in all, this is a pretty good board for a beginner. You will automatically feel confident after hopping on the board for the first time and rolling without falling off the board. On a side note the deck has plenty of flex. I’m 215lbs and get a lot of flex from the deck. My daughter is about 75lbs and only gets a little flex from the board. But it is probably still enough flex to carve effectively. Final evaluation:
The board is worth buying. You’ll be pleased.
As a former shortboard skater, the Bamboo Dancer presented a couple new challenges. First, it's a lot heavier and longer than a regular skateboard and thus transporting it requires a bit more finesse lest you scrape away at your doorways, walls, or car paint. Second, the size and weight forced me to relearn how to do the most basic skateboard skills such as turning, pivoting, and even pushing. The trucks and wheelbase are much wider and longer which allows for more stability, while the soft wheels provide a smoother, quieter ride while sacrificing some speed. I used to ride my shortboard with tight tight tight trucks, and switching to a dancer board, which requires loose trucks for maximum fun, took a little getting used to. Thankfully, Magneto was awesome enough to provide a free skate tool to adjust the kingpin and tighten/loosen your trucks as desired.
It's been 4 months since I received this longboard and as I've gotten more competent at riding and performing tricks, I've also beaten up the board substantially. The symmetrical nose and tail are appropriately scraped up, yet they still retain their pop and have no cracks or delamination. However, the sides of the board that sit right below the wheel wells have chipped off some leaving exposed and splintered wood on the topside of the board. I'm sure my countless attempts at 180 no-complys and ghost ride kickflips contributed to this damage, but I'm surprised that instead of just wearing away or denting the wood I'm instead getting large splinters that are peeling off. Another strange thing is the wheels seem to occasionally become crooked. It's hard to describe, but imagine you give the wheel a nice spin and instead of just rotating around the axel, it wobbles as it spins. I don't know if it's due to the wheels being too soft so the bearings loosen and shift in place, but I can get it to go away by pushing the wheels into the trucks to straighten them. It's a manageable problem, but I've never seen it before on other skateboards. I have some Orangutang wheels in the mail.
Overall I love the Bamboo Dancer. As my first longboard I knew there would a learning curve and I didn't want to spend too much on a learning board, but after riding this thing for 4 months I really can't imagine how much better a much more expensive Loaded board would be. I know there's a world of fancy longboards out there, but of all the ones I've seen the Magneto is hands down, to my eyes, the best looking one by far. Minus 1-star for the wood splintering on the sides and the weird issue with the wheels. Otherwise, this board is amazing in every way.
