It's not directly exposed to water but the weather resistant design is what's needed in this damp environment.

DO NOT BUY if you like to use your money wisely. These are terrible! I purchased two of these so we could put one on each side of the grill so everything would be lit up nicely. STILL, the light is NOT BRIGHT. The description says, "Super-Bright", so I expected to be able to see really well with two lights. SO disappointed. False advertising. NOT SUPER BRIGHT, bummer. I would not say these are inexpensive lights. Cheap (because the light isn't bright), yes, but not inexpensive. The batteries are brand new., so I know it isn't the batteries. The magnet is not strong enough to keep the unit from sliding down. I wish it stayed in place. On the plus side, the base is heavy duty. The long flexible "neck" of the light is really nice. We could even put the light at the back edge of the shelf and still reach the front. The vice is sturdy and stays in place. It is sad that the LED lights don't match the quality of the rest of it. Junk!
