Why does Amazon allow this product to continue to be sold given all the poor reviews & returns?
These extenders are also "mesh" extenders. This means that if the Wi-Fi signal fluctuates throughout the home, the extenders will negotiate which one takes the main control of signal. The result is a seamless Wi-Fi signal as you move through the home or office.
They also extend both 2.4GhZ and 5.0Ghz signals.
If your home has "dead spots" or is larger than 1800 Sq.Ft. or so, these extenders are definitely a must.
Update: so I decided to try the instructions on the website and it installed perfectly. The lesson is: don’t follow the instructions included with the packaging, as those instructions direct you to download the AirTies Wi-Fi app. The app does not work. Just use the instructions available on the web, which don’t even require you to use the included ethernet cable. As far as I can tell, the device seems to be functioning properly. So on that basis it’s probably worth at least a four star review for functionality. And zero stars for installation instructions and Technical Support (which does not exist).
This is my second extender for my home that has three floors.
I had a dead zone in one bedroom.
With this new unit the dead zone is no more.
Now... we buy a service... whether Comcast, or AT&T... and no sooner do we hook up they start charging for this, and that, and the other, taxes, FCC charges, nothing that more taxes and our bills go way out of hand...
Catapult to today and they want us to get into AT&T, or Apple or other TVs... WIFI used, streaming with so many commercials it becomes ridiculous... the channels BUFFERING part of the time because of the lack of WIFI... and then... required to buy this WIFI extender, which we did... and still experienced all sorts of issues...
The equipment was not so easy to install... not sure if it really worked because the issues remained and finally, we moved away, returning to U-Verse... But now, even Fox News wants us to go to FOX Nation and pay close to $7 / month to see the news that frankly, if they have lost the business model where news are provided thanks to advertisers, then... we rather skip the news than continue to add to our expenses. On a fixed budget now... we can no longer afford, nor will we turn into slaves of technology...
Let's stand back for a second, a computer at home, paying for connectivity... a land line, paying for the cost... a cell phone in each hand... everyone wanting to pay for apps that are nothing but tracking devices... a printer, a scanner... and all TVs migrating the same ridiculous process... NOT A CHANCE!!!
Time to move away from technology!!! We must ask: What are we doing to ourselves?
