About this item
- Versatile Mini DisplayPort splitter comes with a DisplayPort to Mini DisplayPort adapter and features two DisplayPort and one HDMI port for up to 3 monitor setup. Mini Display Hub offers increased bandwidth for more pixels and more colors. Supports HDR (High Dynamic Range), a feature not available on DisplayPort 1.2 (requires HDR support from graphics card and display).
- Mini Display Port hub features a low power consumption design that allows it to be bus powered on most systems. The Mini DisplayPort 1.4 splitter contains an optional USB-C power port for use with computers with a low power output Mini DisplayPort, such as the Microsoft Surface Pro. Plug in the included USB power cable if there is disconnecting / flickering / blinking issue
- Mini DisplayPort 1.4 hub contains a built-in magnet allowing it to be conveniently mounted to any metal computer case. Flexible 12 inch cable tail on the MST hub avoids strain on the computer’s Mini DisplayPort.
- 3 Port uni-directional Mini DP hub is an indispensable companion for the latest displays and Windows computers equipped with DisplayPort 1.4 support from AMD Radeon RX and Nvidia RTX graphics cards.

I have two 27" diagonal monitors with DVI cables plugged into DVI --> HDMI adapters and attached to this unit. My laptop monitor and the two external moitors happily coexist. As noted in the listing, this unit WILL NOT drive two monitors without external power. I have it plugged into a cell phone charger USB brick and the unit is happy.
The unit does flicker the external monitors occassionally -- like once or twice every couple of weeks. I'm beginning to think this is a Windows issue, however, since the only that fixes it is a restart of the laptop. Unplugging all the monitors and power and replugging doesn't fix it.
I've recommended this unit to a few others who are also pandemicking-from-home and they've found it to be solid, too.
My Setup:
Monitor 1 - Acer XZ272U
Monitor 2 - Acer SB220Q
Computer 1 - AMD RX 6800XT / AMD Ryzen 7 5800X - Connected with 1.4 DP cable
Computer 2 - Lenovo ThinkPad P1 - Connected with Thunderbolt USB-C -> DP 1.4 adapter
Both PC's connect to the KVM, the KVM output is via a DP->DP mini adapter which then connects to this product.
Both PC's have flickering issues, which nothing solves.
Both PC's will randomly act as if there is no signal. I have to disconnect and reconnect one of the monitors to trigger it to work again.
AMD FreeSync technology is disabled. It will not work with this adapter
I had to find another solution by using just the KVM and the high end monitor, and a separate HDMI switch for the 1080p monitor. Doing so allows the use of AMD FreeSync on both displays.
One note of caution, when I first connected the monitors, they had a refresh rate of interlaced-30. This must have been the MST's default EDID setting, but after setting my monitors to 60p in Window's display manager, the picture was crystal clear. Being that it is a DP 1.4 MST, I am sure it can do dual 4K@60 monitors. Hoping to try that on my new PC.
Once you can actually physically connect it, it works fine. The magnetic attachment mechanism is quite useful.
I used both DP to HDMI cables and an adapter and both worked. This is with a GTS 1650 Super, and I am using USB to give it additional power, though I'm not sure that's needed.

I have my computer connected to 2 extended screens. They have been cutting in/out with black screens intermittently for about 10 sec at a time.

Works well with the Surface Pro. Like it states in the description- doesn’t work with MacBook (including air) as it’s restricted by the OS. Highly recommend if you need to extend your desktop workspace!
